wine flavor distinction vs Cigar Flavor
I thought I would be able to identify a typical Bordeaux Blend from a similiar Napa Blend(Cab Sav,Fran, Merlot) but was surprised to find I could not. There was no distinct difference in tastes I could perceive.
However, with a single puff I would be able to distinguish a Cuban Cigar from a non-Cuban cigar. To me, the difference is as clear as tasting real chocolate compared to a chocolate substitute or diet coke from real coke. Whenever I pick up a highly touted Non CC I have been unable to finish them do to it having a funny flavor, it tastes like sacharrine or some other artificial substitute. I know in past wine competitions, official judges have also not been able to distinguish french wines from those of the US for example, with embarrasing consequences. Can people here with more refined palates taste the difference? Why are Cuban Cigars so distinctive?
