Tri-tip roast, baked sweet potato and grilled onions/red bell peppers. Washed down with a '97 Tempranillo (Spain).

Beef fajitas. 4 loaves of pumpkin bread while the laundry dried. That might last a couple of breakfasts in this house.

Slow-roasted (under 140ºF) rôti de poire de boeuf (a very tender and quite lean cut from the mid hind quarter) with sides of baked sweet potatoes and a garden salad, accompanied by a bottle of 2013 Consensus (a blend of Pinot Noir and Touriga Nacional from the Lisboa region of Portugal).

Slow-roasted rack of pork basted with a mixture of partridgeberry preserve (a Newfoundland specialty) and Canadian whisky, served alongside a medley of roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, celery and onions, and basmati rice.

Stuffed red bell peppers with a delightful salad on the side. Shrimp and wild rice stuffed peppers are usually a light summer dinner, but red bell peppers are on the last sale of the season and will become insufferably expensive next week.

Fall fare is coming soon, but this is a treat for now.

Tonight will be a Thai yellow curry with wild-caught Gulf shrimp, snow peas, baby bok choy, sweet peppers, and scallions. Last time I made it looked like this:
