I've owned several morta pipes and don't care for them. Mainly because I found them to smoke hot and wet.
Also they can absolutely ghost. So can meerschaum for that matter. Smoke a strongly flavored tobacco in any pipe a lot and it will ghost. I have also found that morta pipes (at least the ones I've had) did have a distinctive flavor. I disagree with the article on almost all counts. That said, morta does make for a good looking pipe! |
