Josh - if you open a tin, and find it smokes "wet" - try spreading out the tobacco on a clean sheet of paper. This only has to be for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on humidity levels. Put it back in the bag/tin, and give it another shot. Repeat as needed!
Some blends I "dry" as a matter of course, based on prior experience - others I buy a few tins, smoke one now, one in a year, etc. Sometimes the blends dry out themselves while aging, but I just opened a 1992 tin of "Sophisticate" that I am drying out as I type. 13 years and still quite moist ...
