Refreshing bourbon drinks for summer ?

I drink mainly beer and bourbon (Woodford) , sometimes wine , but that is more of a winter thing for me....

So , I am looking for a few ideas to lighten up my bourbon on a warm sunny day...

Ideas ?

Dan

one ice cube... 2 fingers of bourbon... sit in the shade

or the classics... manhattan or old fashioned or a sazerac... all 3 better with rye IMHO

Bourbon over ice. The true ambrosia-ichor of the Gods. (Add six drops of seltzer if you're trying to cut down.)

I've been enjoying Mint Juleps here lately while sitting on the front porch. I use Alton Browns recipe and technique - I use soda water in place of seltzer, though I really would like a seltzer bottle.

Ingredients
10 mint leaves, plus a sprig for garnish
1 1/2 teaspoons superfine sugar
Seltzer water
Crushed ice
2 1/2 ounces Kentucky bourbon whiskey

Directions
Place the mint leaves in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass and top with the sugar. Muddle these together until the leaves begin to break down. Add a splash of seltzer water, fill the glass 3/4 full with crushed ice, and add the bourbon. Top with another splash of seltzer, stir, and garnish with a sprig of mint. Serve immediately

I pour myself about 16 oz of unsweet iced tea, and put 3 ice cubes in a glass with about 3oz bourbon. that's a great, refreshing after work beverage. Enhanced greatly by a good cigar too!
