This is the ultimate in mild, smooth smoking cigars and the first brand to actually "break the ice" after the Cuban Embargo... the brand that re-educated the American public to the fact that there was life in the premium cigar business outside of Cuba.

In the early 70's we used to have to reserve boxes of this brand for smokers, and await each shipment with the hope that we'd receive a supply that was decent enough to satisfy our regular customers for another month. Today of course, that is no longer the case. Today, the premium cigar smoker can choose from hundreds of brands, but in the early 70's Don Diego, Montecruz, and a new brand that people had trouble pronouncing called Macanudo, were the in-demand cigars of the day.

Today's sale involves the Don Diego Privada #1, a Lonsdale sized cigar wrapped in an aromatic cedar sleeve. I happen to love this cigar in the smaller #4 size, but since we didn't have sufficient stock to offer them, I've picked the longer #1. Here again, you won't easily find the Privada Don Diegos in wide distribution outside of the Eastern Seaboard - but we sell a hell of a lot of them (just not at today's price!) Packed 25 to a box, these cigars are wrapped in USA Grown Connecticut Shade wrappers and are handmade in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
