Rocky Patel Special Reserve Sun Grown Madoro Robusto

Straight tobacco tobacco notes from the wrapper and somewhat more complex notes form the wrapper and almost creamy notes from the cold draw, pwiring with a St Arnold Santo balck lager.

Initial darw is strong and up front with no nonsense to tobacco with some black pepper notes on the retrohale. The burn needs a correction almost immediately. Other than that the ash is a solid medium grey.

The cigar has a good strength that I would classify as full bodied with full flavor. Many have criticized Rocky Patel for having too many marques on the market to make sure that they are all good. I say "hooey" with this latest example as evidence. It is a very smooth cigar with lots of flavor.

At about 2/3 the smoke is cool and smooth with tobacco, pepper and cake-like notes making it a very complex and pleasant smoke. Even the distractions of July 4th fireworks as background distractions this is an excellent cigar.

A cooling off period along with some small purging keeps things cigar as a pleasant, complex experience.

The pepper notes in the retrohale are pleasant and not overwhelming.

Put it down at one inch. Excellent construction and complexity kept my attention despite all of the exterior distractions. 8.75/10 for this fine cigar. 8.75/10. Joe Bob says check it out.

There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.
