Crossfire Legends of the Arapiraca

Crossfire vision: to create jobs and empower the community while crafting great handmade premium cigars at an affordable price.

Crossfire Cigars, LLC is a company born from the love for the Dominican people, their rich heritage in hand rolled premium cigars and the desire to help provide jobs, opportunity and hope in underserved communities.

The cigar comes in a “book” of 10 titled “Legends of the Arapiraca.” The box press Toro features an Ecuadoran Arapiraca wrapper with Dominican binder and filler. The bunch is firm and the wrapper is dark and oily. The cold draw is perfect. Hints of cocoa and vanilla promise a flavorful smoke. This morning’s beverage is a cold brew Chameleon mocha.

Bountiful smoke with leather, vanilla and cocoa greet me with the initial puffs. It’s a brisk 41 degrees this morning, so getting the cigar evenly lit takes some time. Afterward the burn is nice and even. The ash is a firm looking mottled grey.

During the first third the retrohale develops a nice black pepper note and leather notes join the cocoa and vanilla. The burn continues to be even and the smoke is plentiful and smooth. So far this is a very pleasant medium bodied cigar. The ash dropped at the one third point.

During the second third the burn remains even. The strength of the flavors has increased, but overall remains medium bodied. The construction of this cigar is excellent and the overall complexity continues to develop with some cedar notes emerging.

Approaching the final inch some bitterness emerged but was easily purged and the smoke returned to a smooth and pleasant experience. The cocoa and vanilla flavors were overtaken by the cedar and leather notes, but not unpleasantly so. Overall this is a very good cigar with a pleasant finish. 9/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
