Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Sungrown
Time for another review of a gifted cigar.
The 858 Sungrown had a dark wrapper, as dark as many maduros, and was very nice to look at. It seemed firm to the touch, and after clipping the test draw promised good, it had just about the perfect draw, with nice amount of resistance, but not too tight. After lighting, the flavor started full, cedary and spicy, with some bite to it. After an inch the cedar and spice mellowed down a bit and gave way to a woody flavor, maybe oakish or something like that. The finish was somewhat earthy and woody. The strenght felt a bit mild at start, but it developed into a solid medium strenght. The burn was razor straight all the way, and even when smoked slow, one draw was enough to pull out a decent amount of smoke, a mark of very good construction. It stayed very good to the end, so I ended up nubbing this thing. I'll give it **** out of 5, second highest rating for non-cuban I've given. I enjoyed this very much. I'm under the impression that these aren't very expensive, but are rather hard to get? It's a shame, I definitely want to get my hands on more of these. Very nice for an afternoon/early evening smoke.
