I receive all the donations requests and with the help of my family we create and ship out the Care Packages.
around 700,000 Cigars we have shipped to Combat Troops.
With the current FDA Regs Manufactures cannot donate to us unless the Bill gets approved to reverse this restriction.
Donations are down drastically.
Folks can donate to http://cigarsforwarriors.org/donation-options/

Thanks for posting! Was great seeing you again in Jacksonville!

The "latest" news from Cigars for Warriors is that there is legislation on the floor that will stop the ftFDA from preventing cigar companies from contributing. I also gave him my contact info so he can keep me abreast of any events they have that can operate outside the ftFDA overreach. CFW is sending weekly care packages based son public donations. We donated 80 cigars a couple of weeks ago at CATSFest (ok, so it isn't an evil thing, I was just closing in on heat exhaustion when I panned it a couple of weeks ago). They gathered a total of 1831 cigars for CFW and for a new event caled Cigars For Warriors that we attended tonight and I will be writing up soon (with pictures).

That's one for the magazine, Jeff. Links to the organizations are a must.

I'll reconnect with the CFW and CNFV folks as soon as I can and try to get "formal" interviews. As of the CATSFest in SA, the ban was not yet in place because CLE and DE donated a shitload of sticks to CFW.

I just had to do a serious evaluation of my large cigar stockpile, as we were moving half way across the country. I sent probably half my collection to these guys. I just figured its way better for the troops to actually smoke them, instead of stashed away in perpetual storage.

I think a lot of us could do this. It's how I got those 80 sticks out in June. And we got lots of duplicates at IPCPR that are going to CFW while still leaving plenty for reviewers.

I reckon you could unband em if you're that generous.
When I became a pipe smoker, I all of a sudden had too many cigars.
I recently donated ten pounds of cigars. If I were "there," I'd rather
have more cigars than a few premiums. The cigars I donated
weren't crap; a lot of well aged Connies, etc. All cigars I intended
to smoke, but knew I never would get around to.
