Absolutely Bite Free

I know there are many new pipe smokers who try the briar for awhile, but give it up after prolonged tongue bite.

As I've posted earlier, I've been smoking McClelland 2045 and 2050 almost exclusively for about a month. They're bulk blends. 2045 is Oriental Mixture and 2050 is Oriental Cavendish. I don't feel that either has a bite, but I gave some to a friend, a novice pipe smoker, and he said if he smoked a couple of bowls consecutively, his tongue grew sore.

So, I mixed a 50/50 blend of straight golden burley and 2050 and gave him about 4 ounces. I am pleased to hear that he said this mixture had no bite, smoked beautifully, had a pleasant taste, and the room note was not offensive.

There is no perique or latakia in this blend.
