Plackered pipes
Plaquered is a term I've coined to describe a finish that is a mix of paint and laquer. Could be stain too. I guess that would be staquered. Some humidor folks use this too. They can use all manner of fills and they won't show. Until someone like me strips that sticky crap off. Happened today with a large bulldog. No name. made in Italy. My first clue I guess. I'm going to Polish the bowl VERY smooth, stain and wax with carnauba. If it smokes well, I'll live with the fills. If it doesn't, I dunno. Maybe back to ebay. Maybe I'll toss it in the spare parts box.
Beware the plaquered (staquered) finish! |
