Holts Cuba Aliados Originals
This is a cigar made by Rolando Reyes for the Hols company. It comes with a bright red and gold band with Originals in capital letters in the middle.
Prelight - This robusto size cigar had a nice looking wrapper with some noticeable veins but nothing that should cause any problems. The prelight draw was easy and gave a earthy type of flavor. The wrapper gave my lips a little spicy peppery bite when I first put it in my mouth for the prelight draw. Construction seems good and firm. Ash/ Burn - The ash was a dirty gray and was a little flaky. The burn was razor sharp with no running or problems of any kind. Experience - After my first few puffs I knew this was going to be a good cigar. The first part of the cigar has a litlle kick to it sort of like a Don Pepin cigar. The first inch gave a strong tobacco flavor and is very earthy with a small leather flavor thrown in. After the first inch the strength has become medium to full. The flavor profile hasn't changed much and remained the same for the rest of the cigar. Conclusion - For an inexpensive cigar by todays standards just $55 a box, this is a very good cigar. Holts has a winner here. If you like an earthy medium to full cigar you really can't miss with this cigar. Recommened. |
