Old/Antique pipe picture thread

I've taken a fancy to the really old pipes. My pipe refurbishing skills are finally up to snuff and I've been buying alot of them. In the interest of sharing with people who might be interested, I'll post pics. If you have some interesting old pipes, post your pics.

I just smoked this one. It's a NPW French Briar with a Bakelite stem c.1910.

Nice Parker! I've had a couple older ones. Good quality.

Thanks, it looks nice, but the previous owner(s) were Lakeland fans, and it has a nasty ghost... Whoever refurbed it also went crazy with the buffer and there's a gap in the stem shank junction...

BTW, who is NPW? Are they a European make or local? Is the accent piece on the shank brass or gold? Looks great!

Wink

It is difficult to find a nice estate / old / antique pipe, at a reasonable price, cause xrundog buys them all.

I lose more auctions than I win. A LOT more. I'm a bit of a cheapskate. Check this out:

A Manhattan French Briar with amber stem and a little metal dressing c.1900.

Here's that meer bulldog. It's got an elephant logo on the stem, I believe that means it's a brand of the Tanganyika Meerschaum Corporation from Amboseli Pipes called the Countryman (http://www.pipephil.eu/logos/symboles/sy-animaux.html). According to Lopes, the company was started in 1955, and since the nomenclature reads "Tanganyika", this would have to be 1964 or earlier for obvious reasons...

Haven't smoked it yet, it's a fairly small bowl and has been cleaned by the guy I bought it from. The tenon is metallic and screws into the shank...
