Aging mason jars, minimal opening
Most of my cellar is bulk tobacco stored in mason jars for long term aging. Continued opening of these mason jars can impede the aging process of the tobacco. The less I open the jars, the better. What I do is take 6 months worth of tobacco samples and store them in storage bags. I find these bags are air tight enough to keep tobacco in good smoking condition for around 6 months. This keeps me from opening the mason jars no more then once or twice a year. I tend to take the smaller bagged tobacco and put them in a big air tight bag just in case any of the smaller bags are not as air tight. Double bagging also keeps the tobacco smell in control. Works great.
