And some that are over-humidified can seem plugged, also. Cutting in advance of smoking (days in advance, as advised above) helps the cigar to dry out a little. (Flavors of overly humidified cigars can be muted, greatly so in some cases.)

I've the smaller ring sizes tend to be plugged more often than the larger ring sizes, as well. That is the main reason I tend to smoke the larger ring size cigars.
