I have a Tanganyika genuine block meerschaum(african) with a stitched brown leather outside. The stitching is white and is located along the top and bottom of the pipe going from the opening to the bit. There is a white rhino on the bit.

It smokes ok, but is an interesting conversation piece. I believe it was popular among military personnel at one time.

My father was a navy pilot and had the pipe in his survival kit when he flew.
