What a nice surprise this cigar was. Not a great cigar to look at as the maduro wrapper was fairly dark and oily with some tooth but had some blemishes and had somewhat lumpy lines. Firm bunch concerned as to a potential tight draw. Clipped well. Burned very even producing a firm lt gray/white ash. Draw was firm but good producing alot of thick rich smoke. This example was a full bodied, full strength smoke that delivered a wide range of complex flavors. Started out leathery and peppery but settled into a delightful earthiness. Notes of brassiness, overipe fruit, peat & slt anise notes appeared. There was consistent nose spice throughout. The smoke texture was sharp and rich but not biting. The finish was long, tasty and charred. I nubbed this baby. A real treat and at bargain prices.
