No liquid tastes right...
I can't for the life of me lately get cigars and a drink to work together. I've tried every combination of coffee/tea/water/soda followed by gimlets/sapphire and tonics/wines and fruity drinks to boot. Even different days, different times, with and without food, etc.
It seems no matter what I liquify myself with it almost immediately ruins the taste of a cigar - yes, even water! I know it's not my tastebuds because my cigars still taste great and so does the pizza I eat (always the same from the evil store down the road from our lounge) so WHAT is going on????!!!!??? |

Too weird for me, especially the water part... . I have zero problems finding lots of liquids that go well with cigars. About the only drinks that I don't like with cigars are ones with citrus.
Are you smoking flavored cigars, by some chance ?

Ah, I see your problem. You appear to have overlooked beer.

Then don't drink. Who says you have to drink anything while smoking a cigar.
I personally like iced tea with my cigars but I would guess I don't drink anything with 40% to 50% of the cigars I smoke. |

I have to drink something. I smoke 4-7 cigars on any given afternoon/evening at the lounge - My usual is raspberry ice tea or coffee. I tend not to drink alcohol at all with them because it's been ruining the flavors left and right of late.
