Bird Ashtray Stand
Just got this in the mail. It's smaller than I expected by about 1/3, but very, very nice! The cigar is a Mag 46. So you can see that the tray is small. Perfect for one. I think the block beneath the tray is a match striker.
I'm going to redo the base. It's pretty crusty. But I'm going to clean the bird. Looks like some original paint under the dirt. It's got to be 19th century. It's really cool! |

The bird is reminiscent of the Dodo from Porky Pig in Wackyland.

I had some spare moments to redo the crusty base today. I also waxed the red on the tray. I cleaned up the bird and there are some hints of paint. Green, red and white. I can't imagine what it looked like originally. I think I'm going to stop right here. I like the way it looks with the redone base. I'm looking forward to smoking and looking at it when it's warm again.
