White wine rec.: Arthur Metz “Prestige”
Last week / weekend were very hot here in Hamburg and this is the time when I turn to white wine. I don’t dislike it but I usually prefer a good, full-bodied, red one.
Anyway, since I am not very experienced with whites, I took my chances with a reasonably priced one: Arthur Metz “Prestige” (Alsace, 2001). If I remember well it cost app. USD5 / bottle. An excellent dry wine, with lots of fruit and muscat in it. I would easily pay three times the price for it and I believe it would be worth it. I think I will have to stock some in the cellar.
