I'm here on business till next Friday. I've been here since Monday and I've drank several pints every night. I've had a different beer every night and I've drank more in the last week than I've drank in the last 6 months. These damn Brits just bring out the best in you man!!

Any recommendations on beer? I've had Beck's, Stella something or another, Carlisle (not sure about that spelling), a beer with a label that has a blue circle and a red triangle in the middle of the circle. I also bought a bottle of wild turkey at the duty free shop before I left the states.

If you travel most towns will have a local draft. Try it. That strategy served me quite well over there. And what Big O said.

Drink local - Stella Artois is big, but you HAVE to try

Fuller's London Pride if you can find it, or Bombadier, or anything on draft from Samuel Smith... dear god man you are in beer heaven. Drink local, drink hand pulled.

Drink Bombardier, Fullers Directors Bitter, anything LOCAL. Brains if you can get it - Brains SA, or any beer from that welsh brewery.

Spitfire too... hobgoblin... damn, they make some TASTY brews there.

I can't even begin to piece together a comprehensive listing of what to look out for, so a very cursory 'memory check' is all I can offer at the moment.

George Gale Prize Old Ale or Trafalgar Ale (hope these are still around, as they're truly outstanding strong British ales).

Fuller's London Pride (as mentioned). But also try their ESB.

Marston's Pedigree Bitter.

Belhaven St. Andrew's Ale.

Douglas Scotch Ale.

Gordon's Scotch Ale.

Twisted Thistle (sorry, can't recall the brewery that produces this gem).

And, of course, whatever's on tap and looks enticing.

One of the guys from another board is coming to pick me up on Saturday. He's going to take me to some of the local pubs in Yorkshire, so it should be a good drunk......I mean time.

Top fermented, hand pulled. I got it! Muchas gracias compadres! Ooops, wrong country. You blokes have a fine day.

Any ESB you can find. That plan worked well for my wife when we were over there a few years ago.

If I remember right Carling is a lager, is the #1 beer in England, and is held in disregard by many since it is not an ale.

Samuel Smith is in Yorkshire. ANd makes some of teh best beer I've ever had.

Yorkshire... be careful, the sheep look a little scared
