Crown Royal Rye

Northern Harvest. Whisky of the year. Hmmm.

Tried it tonight. $25 a bottle. Yeah, that works.

Canadian taste. Polished. Nice finish. Great deal.

Will be part of the stocking up at the tax sale. I will have a case on the shelf.

One of the people at our whisky tasting last night mentioned that she had tried (and liked) the Crown Royal Northern Harvest... Apparently very smooth (pretty much a Canadian whisky trait, with rare exceptions) and with quite a unique flavour profile (no doubt owing to the high rye content).

I agree. Not a lot of complexity, but enjoyable and smooth. at $30 for the 750ml bottle, it's worth it. If I can find it for 25, I'm in for a couple.

I have only tried a few rye's and they were rough, so hearing you guys describe this as smooth intrigues me.

Hell. You think Canada Dry Club Soda is rough.

Still not 100% sure concerning the finish (although it's certainly clean), which could be longer. That said, my first bottle is 'history' now. And at the whisky's price point, a replacement bottle is definitely in the picture.
