"Smokin' " Deals in Dallas
Hey y'all. Just wanted to give you a heads up about some deals here in Dallas.
Up In Smoke, Dallas/Galleria has lost their lease, and rather than moving everything they are closing out the store at 50% off most merchandise. Cigars in already opened boxes are on sale, but I'm not sure about most of their other boxes. (They did have some unopened ones out the last time I was there.) The store site closes officially on Sunday, June 27th at 6 PM as I recall. I bought a really nice W.O Larsen briar and a couple of carved Meerschaums plus a couple of other things. Saved a bundle!!! If you've been wanting to come to Dallas for any reason, this just might be one more thing to get you here!! The phone number of the store is 972-458-7501 and the toll free number is 1-800-856-7501. doc

I went yesterday. No sale yet on cigars but pipes are 50% off as are a lot of accessories. I was pretty disappointed in the cigars though, the humi was wide open and was burning up. The humidifier and thermostat were off and they just said "well, we are closing". I told them I was referred by someone from CW who mentioned a sale and they replied that maybe sometime next week, and then only on singles, not boxes. I asked if I might go ahead and get a whole bunch now since the temp was way up (hot) and he said no. Later I asked if I could set aside the 80 or so cigars I wanted and he said no. I only asked this because someone else was doing the same thing, so I asked why this guy was able to do so and I wasn't. His reply "oh, he is a friend of mine." When he still didn't offer the smallest amount of customer service I walked out.
I won't be buying any of these cigars after they have been kept in a beetle incubator for well over a week, but if you are interested in pipes or accessories it might be worth the trip.

Maybe that is why they are out of business.

Sorry about the doofus employee, Gumby. That certainly is no way to run a business.....and, yes, this Dallas based chain is still in business at several other locations in this area. Do you know the name of this guy? I doubt that the management is aware of this, and I would hope that they would not condone this sort of crap being ladled out to customers.

I didn't catch a name but it was two male employees, one with a grey beard, the other a younger guy, mid-30's I'm guessing, with brunette hair.

Thanks for the tip. I went and the wife bought me a $135 Colibri lighter for $50 cash. Nice birthday present!
