I finally learned how to do it right
I've been smoking cigars since 1999, but it wasn't until today that I finally learned to cut a torpedo cigar correctly. I never understood the purpose of the torpedo. I usually cut it so deep that any angle created by the triangular head was greatly diminished or disappeared. I had been thinking about this more lately, as I smoke a fair number of torpedo cigars.
Well, today I decided to do a quick search, and I watched a video on how to cut a torpedo. The cut is only supposed to be 1/4 inch deep. So, I tried it on an Oliva MB 3 Torpedo. I am loving it. It's working beautifully, and I think the flavors may be more intense, as is the quantity of smoke. With that said, cut the way you like, and like the way you cut. BUT, if you're going to cut the whole torpedo head off, one must question why they would smoke a torpedo to begin with.
