Tried this blend for the first time last night. Here is what the mfg has to say about it:
Quote:
AN EXCEPTIONALLY SMOOTH BLEND OF SYRIAN LATAKIA, PERIQUE AND UNSWEETENED BLACK CAVENDISH. AN ALL-DAY SMOKE.
Here are some of my review notes:

I found this tobacco to have the consistency of crumble cake (although I can't be sure since it was a sampler pack and not a whole tin). Its a dark blend with an interesting aroma, there was something in it that made it have a bit of zip to it. This was passed down into the flavor as well.

Although its not quite as smooth as Frog Morton, I found it to be smooth with little if any bite. The latakia doesn't stand out as much, and there is another flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on. It was a zesty tangy sweetness which I guess was from the Perique, but it was definitely there and prevelant. There was also a very nice aroma, which had a subtle sweetness to it. It burned well, but I did need to relite several times (but I smoked it in my GBD bent apple, which isn't my best pipe).

Overall, I found this to be probably the best Cornell & Diehl blend I have had so far, and would definitely recommend trying it.

Closest comparison would be Frog Morton, but with just a little more zest thrown in. I give it a 9/10
