Cigar Taxes By State

Useful chart for travelers. When I travel I typically take half of what I will need for the trip from my stash and live off the economy for the other half supporting the local cigar shop. But in some states it's just not possible.

That was interesting, good post.

With a few exceptions, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Of course, the last two places I lived was Alaska and Kalifornia are among the highest abusers. ;( The politicos in those two states really put the spurs to Cigarette and Cigar Smokers in those states. However, those state's smokers buy most of their tobacco products by mail. Those numbers may be lower in CA, but everyone I knew in AK bought almost exclusively online. They might buy a few sticks here and there from B&M's, but mainly it's online. It's clearly just a Punitive approach to legislation. With no science or funded progress programs of any kind. It sounds good on the 6 o'Clock news and furthers the lefty control agenda, but I don't talk about that here.

BTW it also looks like there's an error on two states. Either the percentage or the example is wrong on Wi and Washington state. It say's 95% on both, that's gotta be wrong. But, still it does show an increasing trend to propagate the "Sin-tax" mentality, that is very popular in some camps.

Light them while you can.

What state do you live in? Where did you make your purchases? I've never heard of this happening before.
