CAO #7 Concept Series Robusto

Okay... so as most of you have heard, I was the lucky recipient of the CAO Cx2 Challenge Grand Prize. As part of that prize was a bundle of the #7 Concept Series Cigars. Both Tim Ozgener and Jon Huber have stated that they are a concept blend that has not been outside of headquarters. Since it was a nice long weekend and I was in the mood for something new, I gave one a shot. I must say I was impressed. See below for details.

The prelight draw was very easy and had a nice flavor. Once the torch was put to the cigar it had a nutty, coffee type of taste and lit pretty easily with a copious amount of smoke. The initial burn was a little uneven but evened out extremely well as it smoked. The first third or so stayed with that nutty/coffee flavor and gradually mellowed out towards the second third. The middle section was very mild with a nondescript flavor. This is the area that helped even out the burn. The final third started to pick up a little more spice and introduced a woody type of flavor. The smoke was very consistent throughout the cigar and the ash was a beautiful white hued grey color. Overall, I would classify it as a mild cigar with a nice, easy taste.

I am curious to hear what some of the other guys have to say once they receive their packages.
