Caldwell/Jon Drew All Out Kings Give Me your Lunch Money

This cigar has a very smooth Habano wrapper that has leather and spice aromas. The construction looks excellent. The bunch is firm and the cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Karbach Mother in Lager beer.

The initial notes are smooth leather and savory spices with cedar in the background. The retrohale is very smooth. Lots thick pleasing smoke. The burn is even and the ash looks solid but drops easily.

After 1/3 this is a medium bodied/full flavor smoke. Lots of leather and cedar with almost meaty spices. The retrohale remains smooth with just a hint of pepper. The burn continues to be even. There is a bit of flaking on the ash.

During the second third some of the spices have appeared in the retrohale although the pepper remains mild. The spices are leaning towards ginger and basil. Overall the flavors are very pleasant and complex. The smoke has a chewy texture. The burn continues to be even. The beer is a bit watery by comparison; a porter or a stout would be a better pairing.

Approaching the final inch the flavors are excellent. The complexity of leather, cedar and spices creates an excellent blend. The burn has been almost flawless the length of the cigar. This one earns a hearty 9.25/10. Joe Bob says check it out.

Sounds like a good cigar! How much did you pay for yours?

I smoked a few when they first came out and thought it was OK, not as good as some of the other Caldwells and definitely not as good as Ligas. I wonder if a few months time has really changed these.

Andy, I smoked one last summer and this one was much richer. I think the age did it well.

Thanks Jeff, wouldn't it be nice if the manufacturer indicated whether ready for smoking or needs X amount of aging? If I had known these were so good with some age I wouldn't have smoked them then.
