At your suggestion(s)bought one more #6 and two #4's to try. I'll let you all know if dismissed this one pre-maturely.

Sorry to sound negative here fellas...but I am smoking an LGC R#6 in natural at the moment and frankly..it's a total non event to my palate. The ring is too big for openers, the flavor profile lacks complexity, and the amount of ligero is not enough to gimmmie a boost. I'm 1/4 of the way into this..and I just chucked it into the smash tray....to say I was disappointed would be a fair statement. Gimmie a regular LGC Corona Gorda in natural anyday. Since the first day this SerieR was released I have not liked them. My local tobacconist is baffled by the fact that I don't love em like he does...we tend to enjoy the same cigars for the most part. Oh well..such is life...I'm clipping me a VSG Sorcerer...if this lets me down..then I'll know it was me...not the SerieR that was screwed up this morning..lol. Good day!!

I'm always amazed at how similar my tastes are to jimmyD's.

I love the LGCs, the #6s though are a bit to large. The #4s are perfect, especially in Maduro, and especially with 2 years age on em.

I've also got some #5s in natural which are about a year old and these are excellent as well. My suggestion for the Serie Rs are to punch cut them instead of using a regular cut, this helps control the loose draw a bit.

Good review Frank

The Series 'R' line is all over the place in terms of consistency. I have had #5 maduros that were so good that they brought me to tears. In contrast, I have had others (#4 included) that reflected the same disappointing characteristics that some of the other brothers have pointed out here.
Gimme a good old, reasonably priced aged Wavell Maduro anyday.
