That's interesting. I agree that Mike's lead work gives a signature sound. Very Jimi Hendrix. Plus, he studied Jimi's rhythm work until I'm not sure that anyone does it better. Listen to Yellow Leadbetter. However, I've always thought it was Stone's rhythm and riffs that gave PJ their "sound." Drummers have made a huge difference. I really like them now with Matt, but Dave A. was really the driving force behind their power sound during the heyday. His timing is unreal, and his amazing way of making incredibly difficult and complex fills sound so easy really made them sound huge. He may have been a jerk, or not, but he gave them their edge that still isn't there to this day. I can't believe I just said something bad about PJ!!!!
