Old Pulteney 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch
Old Pulteney 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch – 40% alcohol by volume
Colour: Amber-tinged full straw gold graduating to pale Naples yellow at the rim. Nose: Flowering gorse with a whiff of lavender and a hint of the docks. Palate: A moment of sherried roundness precedes sweet peppered grains and a dousing of saltwater. Viscous yet dancing lightly on the palate. Then charred oak leading to a smoked pears finale. Assessment: A delightful coastal balance between sweetness and dryness, succulence and lithesome exuberance. Supremely quaffable. Summary: In the manner of 12 year old Scapa, a Scotch for any hour of the day or evening.
