Yeah it was flat no detail to the coins either, I smoked it anyway smelled like a cigarette burning more than a cigar, oh well it was a freebie

The last time it happened to me, I was smoking outdoors in New Mexico. Lends credence to the over humidified idea.

A properly humidified cigar, smoked outdoors in very high humidity can swell and split even more easily than an over-humidified one. Happens to me a lot, so I dry box cigars I might smoke (get them down to 60-65%RH.)
