Another truly pleasurable post to read. My stick buying has slowed in the last year due to attention on medical issues with a kiddo and a grand parent. So, likely 40 sticks total currently and completely out of Cubans. Life is slowly getting back to normal. Hope all are well.

Been buying Cubans for the last year to build up my inventory.

I can also attest to those amazing aged cigars. As is often the case, The Dog is prone to understatement, as an example he later referred to them as "some shitty old cigars"
they were not! They were stellar. I also agree with the notes on aging. Sometimes you get lucky, but quality is the very first needed element for a given cigar to age gracefully. IMHO.

Spot on, Brian, and a point that needs to be emphasized in any discussion on aging. Aging a lousy cigar will only produce an old lousy cigar. But if you start with an excellent cigar, and you age it properly, the reward can be epic.

You mean those 20 year old Papayos aren't going to taste like a finely aged Cuban?

had my kid at the grocery store yesterday, she was trying to make her way to the canned vegetables, and there were a few people blocking the aisle. She violently turned back, and raced out of the aisle.

'THEY STANK!'
'Those fine examples of missourians STANK? What was it, beer and mexican food?'
No, it was more like CROTCH AND FUNGUS!'
that may have been taken from my old tasting notes for the papayo.

I used a papayo to melt the great heathen demigod Abbadon into sewage once. I owe my life to the papayo.

I remember myself and Mr. Blonde out at the Camp wrapping up a crawfish in a box of Papayos and mailing it to Ocat (RIP) as a gag.

We figured the crawfish could only improve the flavor of a Papayo.
