Butane Torch (Malfunction???) Question

I purchased a rather cheapo torch ($14, labeled 'Blow Torch,' LOL) from my local tobacconist a few weeks ago. I use King triple refined butane. Anyway, just lately, I've noticed that the torch doesn't go out immediately after I release the trigger. The longer I have it lit the longer it takes for the thing to go out. If I have it lit for six or seven seconds, it may take 3 seconds to self extinguish. Is this normal? I've purged the thing before refilling and I've used an air can to clean the nozzle.
