Care of limited humidors (exterior)

How would one go about treating/polishing the wood on the exterior of a limited edition humidor? For example, take a 1995 Party 150 humidor that's a little beat up (the humidor has some small scratches on the wood, looks sort of dry, etc...). Normally i'd use Old English Oil, Pledge or something similar, but what if the humidor is going to be filled with the original cigars and then stored in a cabinet humidor? Using a wood polish may stink up the whole cabinet humidor and/or impart a nasty flavor to the cigars.

Thoughts? Thanks
