When we remodeled our kitchen ~15 years ago, we hauled our then 14-year old GE refrigerator out to the kennel and used it for holding stuff to feed the dogs. Refrigerators are not intended to be used in temperatures that run close to 100 degrees for weeks on end. It ran like a champ until Harvey, when it was flooded about a foot deep and quit working.
After the flood receded and the kennel dried out, Anne figured "What the hell?" and plugged it back in. It started right up. It's still running. It's 30 years old now. They don't build appliances like that any more.
