I have a small tuperdor that contains several boxes of prized smokes that, if patience prevails, will age. I have a cigar oasis inside that works great at keeping RH at 68. The problem is the temperature. The tupperdor is in the basement and it is getting cold. During the summer maintaining temp is about 70 so it's okay. Recently the temp has dipped into high 50s and low 60's inside the tuperdor.
I read in Rudman's that to compensate for lower temp I should increase humidity substantially. The chart suggested around 80 rh for that temp range. That seems really high to me. I am looking for some inputs 'cause these are the extent of my ISOM boxes and some stuff I would prefer not dry out. If I move the setup I risk the youngins and others getting into so I would prefer to keep where I'm at. Any help is appreciated!!!
