I just picked up a couple of bundles of Nestors cigars. They are each wrapped in cellaphane. Whats the best way to store this in the dor? Remove them, or leave them wraped? Do they tend to age better unwraped?
So many questions, so many cigars, so little time. |

This topic comes up frequently. You may want to look back through the archives for more on this topic.
IMHO this is a matter of personal taste. Some swear they age better without celo, some say it doesn't make a difference. What I typically do is cut off the foot of the wrappers, completely exposing the lighting end of the cigar. This way more air can get in, but I still have the protective cover over the cigars.

What about the cigars "breeding" with eachother?
I am not certain if that is the correct term, but I have heard of cigars mixing flavors when they are placed exposed together. Does that really happen? Thanks!!

it's usually called "marrying", and is basically not possible, unless you store flavored or aromatics like Acid with your regular cigars. That's a bad idea. Other than that, it won't happen

cello on/cello off is discussed so much it gets to be a joke if you stay on a BB for more than 6 months. Each choice has advantages and disadvantages. I have a lot of cigars and I'm not going to screw around with taking cello off.
Marrying is way overblown - you read about it in books, especially those written during the great cigar boom of the mid 90s. It just doesn't happen - otherwise I'd store cheapos with a cuban to get them to taste cuban...

there is no right or wrong answer on this - its a great step in freeing yourself from all the crap that flies around about cigars. If it works for you, and you're happy then be happy!

Great name Al, lol. BTW, THAT is the way Steven spells it, not like mineCheck out my profile and the preceding will make sense.btw, take the cello off to expedite aging, leave on if you intend long term storage.
