I just tried this cigar last night. A very good cigar worthy of attention.
A finely veined, col/mad wrapper that had no flaws, was mottled, oily, and rich looking. Barrel was moderately square pressed. Very good construction. Nice suppleness in mouth and hand. Pre-draw was on the firm side but after lighting presented no problems or distractions. Fairly even burn only requiring two minor torch touch ups. Light gray ash was firm. A paced cigar. This is a med strength med/full bodied smoke exhibiting a rich blend of above average complexity. Solid tobacco core that was earthy. Roasted coffee bean and burnt walnut notes with a nice ligero presence tingled the nose. Sun grown Ecua. wrapper produced an occasional overripe berry component. There was a pleasant slight flintiness on a lingering earthy finish. Smoothly textured smoke. A cigar that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend especially at $5.50 a single. |
