Is that possible? I've left the cap with the salt in the bag for 12 hours now and it is reading 64% RH. Should I leave it in there longer?

or just go w/ the fact that its -11%?

You typed "bag". The salt test is most accurate when using a large glass jar.

I use 24-36 hours minmum. And as Deriffe said use a glass jar with a good tight lid, ziplocks leak a little.

Well, i've waited now just about 23 hrs and its slowly rising. It is currently at 69% I will check back when it is at 36 hrs like you guys said. I was going off of a website that I got from doing a "salt test" search. It said to use a double ziplock, so thats what I've been using...think it'll work okay? Thanks guys for helping me out!

When the test is over, if there's any doubt to the accuracy, just do it again using a glass jar.

Don't worry too much about this. I stopped worrying after doing salt tests and never getting the same result twice. Just go with your 50/50 or beads or Cigar Oasis and learn to check by pinching your cigars, how well they smoke, and visual inspection...
