My friend John here sent me (11) of his home-rolled cigars to try out...here are my impressions of this diamond in the rough!
VITOLA: Blend #7H Wrapper is HABANA2000...BINDER is Ecuadorian Sumatra...FILLER is half Dominican Secco...half Nicaraguan Ligero. APPEARANCE: This was a 5'x 52 Robusto that had a beautiful Golden Brown wrapper, with slight oils and a nice sheen.Minimum veining! COSTRUCTION: It looked like a factory hand rolled...outside of a "rustic" cap..which didn't bother me any!Nice firm bunch...SOLID!! TASTE: The taste of this cigar was that of good aged tobbacco!Very straightforward tobbacco flavor with a touch of spice and just a hint of some sweet flavors..the aroma was heavenly! BURN: This thing was constructed PERFECT...NO SHIT!!!It held an ash for over 1.5 inches...I was impressed! No touch-ups,no tunneling...PERFECT BURN and Draw!!! SUMMARRY: John didn't give himself enough credit when he told me about these! They were perfectly rolled..with a nice tobbacco flavor that was thoroughly enjoyable IMO!! You did good Brother... Thanks John for letting me try them!! I will post for his other cigars when smoked! |
