Peter Stokkebye "Bull's Eye Flake" - a Quick Revie
Just got some of this from the fine folks at at "El Humidor" in Wilkes Barre, PA, yesterday. (See there web site at www.elhumidor.com).
This is a VA/PER with "bullseyes" of Black Cavendish. It's in large half dollar slices with the Black Cavendich (a very small amount) in the center. I smoked three of the bullseye "coins" in a Dunhill Einstein Shell Briar. I rubbed it out somewhat haphazardly. Depsite this, it burned very well - almost straight through with no relighting. I was not really able to detect any influence from the little dot of Cavendish in the center, or sense the Perique to the degree I would label it a "perique blend." Any smoker of straight Virginias will certainly enjoy this, as the Perique and Cavendish are quite muted. The smoker of VA/PER's will also like this blend, however. And do not be put off by the word Cavendish! In sum, the quality of the tobaccos employed is very high, and the "bullseyes" are just plain neat looking! It has a good full Virgina body, but is not overly heady, and gives no indication of flavoring. An excellent smoke!
