Matthew, based on the following quote, it would appear that is incorrect:

Also, bear in mind that there is no way to determine when the contamination (egg laying) occurred. Even sealed boxes could be contaminated by these little varmin. So the best thing to do is to put all newly acquired cigars away in a quaranteen environment (maybe an isolated cooler) for a period of 65 days before allowing them to mingle with your main stocks. I used to do this before I got my wine-fridge-ador. Based on this information I may start doing that again.
