2012 Sungrown Pyramid by Oscar Valladares
The cigar has a nice medium brown wrapper that is smooth. The bunch is fairly firm and the cold draw is good. Light aromas of tobacco and spices from the wrapper and foot.
Initial notes are light savory spices with a light white pepper in the retrohale. The burn is even with a mottled grey ash. The construction of the cigar is very good. During the first third the tobacco notes picked up providing a much fuller smoke. The pepper notes remain light. The ash is pretty solid but I knocked it off after an inch so it wouldn't drop in my lap. The second third is spicier with more pepper in the retrohale. A bit of citrus is hitting the tip of my tongue. The smoke is nicely complex and pleasant. Approaching the final inch the flavors are mostly full bodied. A touch of warmth is closing in on my fingers so I will have to put it down soon. Good complexity, good construction and lots of smoke. 8.8/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
