AJ Fernandez Enclave Broadleaf Robusto

New this summer, AJ Fernandez releases a broadleaf version of the Enclave. This cigar has a very smooth dark wrapper with the expected sweet aroma of broadleaf. The foot has light cocoa and leather aromas. Overall construction looks and feels excellent with a nice firm bunch and a great cold draw. This morning's beverage is a fresh roasted Torquino/Serrano blend coffee.

The complexity of this cigar is impressive from the initial draw. Sweet broadleaf notes are complemented by leather and coffee with a light touch of black pepper in the retrohale.

The first third has a good solid flavor combination of sweetness with leather and coffee notes and very smooth and pleasant smoke. The burn is perfect and the ash is solid and light grey. The coffee is a perfect complement to the cigar.

The second third continues to be excellent. The burn is perfect and the ash is dropping off about every inch. A meatiness is developing from the broadleaf. The flavors are holding firm with the pepper notes staying subtle and the coffee and leather consistent. This is a medium body and flavor cigar, perfect for breakfast.

Approaching the final inch the flavors remain complex. Just a bit of warmth has developed but purges out easily and I only have to put it down when it is too hot to hold. An excellent cigar in all aspects, it gets 9.75/10. Joe Bob says check it out.

There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.
