Samuel Gawith Blends - 1792 Flake
A very moist sliced cake, packed in a rectangular tin. It is moist enough that, upon opening, when I rubbed out the first bowl full using my palm-to-pam method, the tobacco stuck together in a ball.
Upon opening the tin, you notice a very strong odor of some casking agent. It is a mystery to me as to what this is. There is no discernible tobacco smell, it is that strong. You can not pick out a base or flavoring tobacco - just the casking. It is - in short - very perfumed, and the perfume carries over into the smoke, which is sweet, perfumey, and cloying. It burned hot and, once again, no discernible tobacco taste - just the aromatic agent. I did not enjoy it at all! It did solve one mystery for me, however. Some time ago I purchased a Dunhill Shell Einstein estate, and it had a strange, sweet taste to it. I posted a thread in which I carried on about the strange pipe cleaning substance that had been used in the pipe. I now am sure that the prior owner had smoked the 1792 Flake in the pipe. So one mystery solved while another remains. I will gladly send the nearly full tin to anyone who asks me and would like to try it. I would ask that you post a quick review here in the PR after smoking. Just shoot me a PM.
