Salvaging my humi

Hello gents,

I have a question to ask you all. Can a humidor that hasn't been seasoned initially but have been used to store cigars for 2-3 years be salvaged? I was given a small humidor but my buddy told me that he never bother to season the humidor before using it. I inspected it and it looks fine. I opened it up and let it aired out for two weeks now and have begun the process of seasoning it. It seems like the reasonable thing to do. I just had to ask and see what the majority have to say about this. Is there something else I should be doing?

Thanks,
