Fuente Rosado Gran Reserva
Picked up a robusto at my local B&M the other day, and after letting it rest a couple, decided to give it a go today.
Typical Fuente construction, clean wrapper, no defects. Cut perfectly with no bits drawing out of the cut end. I experienced a nice draw from this cigar and could taste a little sweetness from the wrapper before lighting. Lit fine and I had no burn problems down to the nub, even steven all the way. Got plenty of smoke out of this stick, just the way I like it. The taste profile was leather and sweet for the first half of this smoke and I would say the body of flavor was on the medium side until the second half kicked in. I got some spice in the second half and the strength kicked up a notch thru the nub. As for value, I paid $6.00 for this at my store and could have gotten a box with a 10% discount. Comparing to other Fuente products the price is about the same. Would I purchase this again? You bet! Especially if I could count on the same smoke experience. |
