Too much PG?

Several months ago I made my own PG solution at a less than 50/50 mix. I am now finding that the cigars have absorbed what appears to be too much PG. The cigars have a slightly sweet but an acridic taste that overpowers any of the cigar taste. I feel I may have ruined a batch of cigars in my humidor, but I'm letting them air-dry to help relieve any over-moistured and taste problems. My main problem, besides the loss of good sticks is, how do I know if my humidor has absorbed the PG and will my box be contaminated if I put in some new sticks? How would you go about getting rid of any remaining PG that may be absorbed in the cedar or is the box a total loss? Any clues?
